Unsung Heros-Prologe

As I have been reading through the book of mormon this time I have started to notice little characters who don't get to much mention but do so much good.  I've taken to calling them my unsung heros.  I have loved learning about them so much that i decided to well make a series of posts about them.  Probably regularly for the next while.  This is so you all know whats going on all posts will start Unsung hero-then who.  I know that the Book of Mormon is true. It blesses and changes lives every day.  I encourage everyone to read it daily.  honestly it changes people. I love the Book of Mormon.

If any of you can think of any great unsung hero's let me know because i would love to study about them.  on facebook or just comment.  Let the Book of Mormon change your life.

Unsung Hero(es)-SERVANTS OF LAMONI...Best MEMBER MISSIONARIES EVER?....

I was reading the 19th Chapter of Alma today and I noticed something today that I had never noticed before.  The servants that Ammon served with at the waters of Sebus shared the gospel and backed up Ammon when the going gets rough(19:33-34).  In my mind I have always seen Ammon as a great missionary who converted a whole people by himself when he listened to the spirit. WRONG!  He converted a few but how did a few become the who people... he had great support, member support to be precise.... Ah ha  it wasn't just him, he wasn't alone.  Those whom served with and loved also shared the gospel with those they knew.  Ammon tried to teach them and so did King Lamoni but that wasn't enough(vs. 32) When the people saw the Servants of Lamoni, who were normal people just like them, sharing the same message Ammon(Missionary) was, their hearts were softened. We all know what happens when hearts are softened.  It becomes easier for the spirit to touch them! And since they felt the spirit coming from there friends.  What happened....

35 And it came to pass that there were many that did abelieve in their words; and as many as did believe were baptized; and they became a righteous people, and they did establish a church among them.

They believed, they acted, were baptized and they became a righteous people!!!!  What a blessing it was for all of them. There whole lives were changed.  Not to mention the 2000 young boys who 40 chapters down the line save the day.... :)

LIKEN ALL SCRIPTURE.....

Well in today's world of technology it is not likely that the missionaries are going to have the opportunity to cut off arms of marauders in order to help those around them gain a testimony.  Not only is that not likely its not necessary anymore; because unlike Ammon who went to a country where there was no believers, with the exception of Abish, the missionaries now go to a places where the are already modern "Servants of Lamoni". The servants helped as soon as they were shown how to act and were invited to.  I invite each and every one of us to try a little harder every day to become more and more like the Servants of Lamoni and to be willing to look for and testify when an opportunity to do so arises.  If we ACT then the blessing that happened in vs. 35 will become a reality in each and every one of our lives. I know that because the Book of Mormon is true and Gods blessings never cease I know if we each act and share the gospel daily we will change our lives and the lives of others.  In the name of Jesus Christ Amen.
